On Monday night I had the pleasure of attending the dedication of the John L. Burton Democratic Headquarters of the California Democratic Party in Sacramento. This is a great step for California Democrats, because it means money spent on rent in the past can now be used for persuading and turning out voters for elections instead.
I am proud to be a California Democrat. I have always believed in empowerment for residents and their communities, and the Democratic Party is the party of the people.
People used to call California ungovernable. It's no coincidence that our state has been on an upswing though, since electing Governor Jerry Brown and a slate of Democrats for all statewide constitutional offices.
With the investment in this new headquarters, California Democrats will be able to keep moving us forward. I'm expecting great things for our state in 2014 and 2016.
