Happy Holidays to all and if I don't blog before, Happy New Year as well.
2013 was a joyous year for me personally: my son Assemblymember Sebastian's election, Mayor Aja Brown's triumphant win in Compton and my old friend Councilmember Curren Price Jr. in the 9th District. A new generation of leadership is emerging as the "older" generation tries to finish the work it started years ago.
And that is what I will be focusing on in 2014.
I want to use my abilities, resources and the community to make some long needed and lasting changes in our District. I plan to start the year with the belief that anything is possible and that we can, working together, accomplish what we need to accomplish.
For now, we spend time with our families or with those in need and we remember those we have lost along the way. For the past, present and for the future we have an obligation to have a great and meaningful 2014.
We can do it.
Happy Holidays from the Ridley-Thomas family and I wish you peace, good health and a life with purpose.
