It seems like every week there is another election, this time for Hawthorne City Council. I am supporting and urging residents to vote for Katrina Manning. She has the new ideas and energy that I saw in Mayor Aja Brown and represents the next generation of leadership that is stepping forward to fix our communities (like my son Sebastian.)
Katrina makes a compelling case for herself on her website which I have included below:
"I am running for Hawthorne City Council because I know the city is capable of doing better and I am committed to helping us reach that potential. I have a proven history of fighting for what’s best for the city's residents while serving as President of the Holly Park Homeowners Association and as the former Parks and Recreation Commissioner.
As a graduate of University of Southern California’s LAAAWPPI Leadership program with a Business degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills and experience as a bookkeeper, I have a track record of business success and the ability to balance finances.
My top priorities are: (1) create a pathway for job growth (2) enhance our local economy through better use of public services and (3) improve the ethics of our government. Unite with me in improving our beautiful city and moving in a New Direction.
If elected, you will always find my doors open to your suggestions to improve our community."
