Proud to support London Breed for San Francisco Mayor.
I got to know London Breed while working with her on our state's homeless crisis. We both recognize that tens of thousands of people go without a home every night in our cities. The homelessness problem in California is overwhelming our city and county efforts to adequately assist those in need. We know it is long past time to address this critical moral, civil rights and social justice issue, and we need immediate and extraordinary action in our cities. That is one of the many reasons why I support her campaign for Mayor of San Francisco.
London grew up in public housing in San Francisco, and she is no stranger to the struggles of working people. She became the executive director of the African American Art & Culture Complex, and served the community there for over a decade. London was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors representing District 5 in 2012, and currently serves as President of the Board. She also served as Acting Mayor of San Francisco after the passing of Ed Lee.
London Breed is a visionary leader with proven experience who will fight for those who most need help, which is why I am proud to endorse her.
